It was November 29, 2018. That day, LBX joined the 40 or so companies that make up the Amiquar group. What could have been just one more acquisition is in fact a small revolution for the French industrial group.
First, Amiquar is expanding its scope. Indeed, until then it was mainly European through a few subsidiaries of French structures, thus this operation made the Groupe become international. LBX ASIE is actually a company based in Hong Kong, with a team spread across the world: Shanghai in China, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Santiago in Chile and of course in France.
But above all, through this acquisition, the group adds a string to its bow: to its until then mainly industrial activities joins the one of sourcing.
Sourcing, also referred to by the term procurement, consists of finding and then selecting for its customers the best factory able of manufacturing tailor-made manufactured products. If the definition seems simple to read, in reality the scope of action of the company is very wide.
It all starts with the product. If it is a creation, LBX ASIE supports its customers in its design and development. This includes the different aspects of design: shapes, colors, printing, choice of materials. Once this phase is completed, it is then necessary to determine the best service provider to ensure its manufacture. Thanks to its knowledge of the industrial fabric of the different countries where it operates, the LBX ASIE team bases its selection on process, quality or ethical criteria since these are increasingly sought after by contractors.
The production phase is followed from start to finish by the teams of the sourcing company: production of prototypes or pre-production samples, printing ready to print version, then mass production. The presence of the team on site and on a daily basis in the factories makes it possible to carry out quality controls during manufacture. This is a major advantage that allows any corrections to be made during manufacture rather than seeing deviations retrospectively. If the gain is essential in terms of quality, it is mainly in terms of lead time. Finally, LBX ASIE’s logistics department takes care of the complete delivery of the products to the delivery point desired by the customer, sea or air freight, customs clearance and trucking to the final destination.
LBX ASIE can work on all types of manufactured products. If the bag is its historical activity, for two years its field of action has widened to other types of products (textiles, goodies, etc.).
In addition, LBX ASIE, is strongly committed to the ecological transition through its main activity and has thus decided to use its skills in the development of two new eco-responsible ranges of food-packaging and textiles.
